Three little honey bears

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been straying off and doing other things. I find myself having a hard time sticking to one thing. My attention span is so weak, lol its bad. But sometimes good things come from it. So I’ve got four pictures I’ve made, and I enjoyed it a lot. I hope you all enjoy them as much as I did making them.

Color Tunnel

The first one here, was suppose to be a never ending tunnel, filled with color. The true length of this does not show fully, or you can’t really tell. Although this idea popped up as an experiment, I learned a good deal with lighting.

The lighting also produced an unexpected result. If you look at the picture, and learn forward and backward, it moves. Giving a slight effect of an illusion, which was a nice unexpected result.

Graveyard

The graveyard here, was an idea that failed on many levels. I got frustrated with it after awhile, and left several things out. The first frustration came with trying to make a mist effect across the ground. I’m not sure if you’d even notice it, if I didn’t tell you. It was the first time trying this, and nothing went right. The effect seen is simply what I stayed with.

The second frustration came with clouds, another first trying to make. I don’t like the way they look. My cousin with her snide criticism, told me they looked like deformed penises lol.

The last frustration came with the moon. Although, I’m glad with the way it looks, and even the texture on it. I wasn’t thinking about the light at the time, so if you look. You will notice the moon behind the scene, but light illuminating from the opposite direction.

Water Cross

I had originally posted a pic of a scene with a cross, but it never lived up to how I seen it in my head. This time around I tried again, with the results being a tad better. Not perfect though, and I’ll probably do it over again in the future.

The biggest problem I had is the mountain. I’ve said how much I hate messing with textures. It shows here, and bad in my opinion. I’ve also realized I hate messing with grass. The more grass, in a scene the longer the render times. I’ve now come to accept forgiveness with games that slow down when a lot of plant scenery is around lol.

Honey Bears

Lastly is the three little honey bears, something that I enjoyed a lot making. It isn’t perfect in anyway. I messed up on the bears eyes, they are to glossy, to the point of having a reflection. The white bear is too white, and it should have been toned down a tad.

But overall, I enjoy how everything looks on this one.

I hope you all like these, if not o well lol. I do however would appreciate feedback, doesn’t matter if its good or bad. Criticism always makes one better at the things they do.

  1. I really like the first picture! Even if I don’t lean backwards and forwards, it looks like it’s rippling. It’s a cool effect

  2. All of these look great. The graveyard is my favorite, even without fog.

    • Really? I’m quite surprised by the two responses so far. You both liking two that I thought I did the worst on lol.

      • No, it looks good. Sometimes, less is more. I think the fog might have made it look less impressive, honestly. Right now, the graveyard looks like something out of Telltale’s The Walking Dead series. It looks good.

      • Thanks that really means a lot. You make feel on the same level as a popular developer. I’ll get there with due time.

      • Aether says:

I can second that, the graveyard looks just fine to me. I can see what you were saying about having trouble with the clouds, and I don’t detect the mist there, but even without that, it looks completely fine.

The three bears is my favorite, though. D’aww! Also, the ground texture looks really nice in that one.

      • Thanks! Those clouds and mist became a huge pain. I should have keep on working with them, but I’d had enough.

The grass texture on the bears did turn out good. But its also layered with a bit of actually grass on top on the texture.

  3. Hi mate! Also liked the grave-yeard, could easily be from a game. I get the old “adventure game” feeling when looking at it. Now I wonder what is inside that crypt…

    • Thanks, and don’t worry about the spelling. I’m glad it gave you that feeling, it makes me feel better about it.

Even though the crypt isn’t filled with anything. We’ll just go ahead and say some zombie/demon hybrid creatures are running around lol.
